Certified Professional In Pulmonary Medicine
Pulmonary Medicine is a branch of medicine that deals with the study and treatment of respiratory diseases. Pulmonologists, also known as pulmonologists or chest physicians, are doctors who specialize in this area. They diagnose patients and provide care for those suffering from conditions such as asthma, lung cancer, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), pneumonia, emphysema, and other chronic bronchitis-related illnesses. A blog post about Pulmonary Medicine maintains an Editorial Board of practicing researchers from around the world.
Pulmonologists can be general practitioners, surgeons, intensivists, or pulmonologists. They might work in private practices, hospitals, and clinics. Pulmonology was first recognized as a medical specialty by the American Thoracic Society (ATS) in 1948; it became part of the World Medical Association’s International Classification of Diseases ICD-09 list in 1955, and then an official board certification developed from 1970 onwards with the help/cooperation of ATS Certification Committee members who were practicing pulmonologists at that time.
