Medical laboratory technicians are highly trained professionals who specialize in analyzing the body’s fluids and tissues. They are often called upon to work with other health care providers, such as doctors and nurses, to solve medical problems. They conduct lab tests on samples given by physicians or collected from patients themselves. Lab techs also analyze these test results for abnormalities or diseases that may be present in a patient’s system, which they then report back to their physician counterparts so that appropriate treatment can be administered if necessary.
