Certified Professional Diploma in Computer Aided Designing (CAD)
This course teaches students to use modern CAD software to produce two-dimensional drawings for manufacturing applications. It also covers coordinating systems, proper dimensioning, the use of sectioning and projections for visualization, symbol libraries, file management, and collaborative techniques. It also demonstrates basic principles of Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to show how 2D CAD designs are converted to Computer Numeric Control (CNC) programs to direct automated machining equipment.
- To provide the student with the basic understanding of AutoCAD commands and capabilities by providing a hands-on training environment where each student will complete drawings and exercises using the Level One commands as specified by AutoDesk, Inc. The student will learn the commands used to create and modify two-dimensional drawings. AutoCAD 2017 will be taught in the class.
