Description
Painting glass can be a time-consuming task and one that requires patience. The first step is choosing the right paint for the job, which may seem easy but it’s not always as straightforward as you might think.
There are many different types of paint on the market today and they each have their own pros and cons. In this post, we will go over three different types of paints: acrylic enamel, acrylics marked as suitable for tile or glass, and specially formulated solvent-based paints.
Acrylic enamel is a type of paint that should be used on glass if you want to achieve glossy or semi-glossy sheen. It also offers protection for the surface against chemicals, moisture, and heat. Acrylics marked as suitable for tile or glass are generally available in the flat finish only, while solvent-based paints come in gloss, satin, and matte finishes.
They may have different effects but all three types will perform well when it comes to durability and color retention over time. Choosing the right paint largely depends on personal preference – some people prefer more natural-looking surfaces so they would opt for acrylic enamel; others might go with this particular type because it lasts longer than other kinds of paints (up to 15 years).
